CNIRD was born out of a concern expressed by community development practitioners in the Caribbean that the governments of the region and existing NGO’s were not sufficiently combining their resources to response to the socio-economic problems of the rural sector.
We are an independent regional non governmental organization founded in 1988, whose focus is on networking with national and sub regional intermediaries based in the Caribbean region, with the objective of achieving integrated rural development.
CNIRD will continuously strive to be the premier organization for the promotion of sustainable development in the region through the involvement of communities and the utilization of relevant technology to improve the quality of life; whilst maintaining the tradition and culture of Caribbean people.
We improve the quality of life of Caribbean people by helping communities meet their development goals through the implementation of sustainable practices.
